September TBR

September TBR

It’s that time again! The start of the month means a new TBR pile! Last month, I managed to read all but one of the books on my TBR list, so I am hoping I can keep up that trend. Check out the books I am going to be diving into this month!

Bout of Books #20 // TBR Pile

Bout of Books 20 Readathon

At the time of this posting, I have read four books in August with two more I am hoping to get read this week!

So, what the heck? Let’s ride the momentum and give one final push for the August TBR pile with the Bout of Books Readathon next week!

The Bout of Books readathon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long readathon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 21st and runs through Sunday, August 27th in whatever time zone you are in. This is low-pressure with challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional.

Here is my TBR for this event!

Back to Hogwarts Cramathon TBR

Back to Hogwarts Cramathon TBR

This is one of those moments when I think to myself, man I must be crazy! Crescent Moon Reads is hosting a 24 readathon called the Back to Hogwarts Cramathon! Of course, the first thing I thought of was the opening number to A Very Potter Musical.

It starts on Saturday, August 18th at midnight in your time zone and then goes for a full 24-hours until midnight on Sunday, August 19th. There will be challenges and you can accrue points towards a mini house cup. I will be participating as a Slytherin.

And yet, it seems ridiculous committing to this because I just posted about my insane reading goals for the next week or so. Plus, the last time I signed up for a readathon with a thin book, it ended up being something that I had to sit back and think about for a good long while after I was done.

But regardless, here is what I hope to read for the Cramathon!

My Booktube-A-Thon TBR List

Booktube-a-Thon TBR PileI had only vaguely heard about the Booktube-A-Thon when Celeste @ Inked Books posted her TBR list and it looked amazing! She asked if I was going to participate and I said I wasn’t sure, but with some gentle prodding, I am here posting my TBR for this week. So, thank you Celeste for inspiring this insanity, and encouraging me to participate.

The Booktuba-A-Thon starts Monday July 24th at midnight and continues until Sunday July 30th! For those seven days, a group of readers try to read as much as possible!

There are challenges on Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube, and it’s generally an event for the entire book community to read. You can find out more about it via any of these channels or you can watch this intro video! Hurry, it starts at midnight tonight! (Yes, queen of last minute TBRs!)

So, here’s my list of books for the challenges, I doubt I will get to all of them in the next seven days, but I am going to try!

Beat the Backlist & Hogwarts Reading Challenge

Beat the Backlist Challenge Banner

If there was a definition of late to the party, it would probably be me when it comes to reading the piles of paperback books that I have accumulated over the years. So I think its time I sign up for Novel Knight’s Beat the Backlist Challenge to try to knock some of these titles off my list.

Here’s how it works! The idea of this challenge is knock off titles that have been on your “To Be Read” pile for a long time, and to try to shrink that pile. There are only two guidelines for this challenge:

  • The challenge will run from January 1st to December 31, 2017
  • The book has to have been released prior to 2017. (In short, no new releases!)

Additionally there is an optional Hogwarts House Cup Mini Challenge that you can sign up for.

As I said, I have a lot of books that I have been meaning to get to, and I think this is the perfect time to do it. So here are a few of the titles that have been sitting on my shelf that I hope to read in the remainder of 2017.

April Wrap-Up and May TBR Pile

April is closing up. I’ve had a bit of a rough month but I’ve read some great books so that’s helped get me through. Sadly, the list of things I actually read seems much different than my previous wrap-up post. Although the list of books that I ended up reading was much different, I don’t regret reading a single one. Here’s a look at what I read this month in case you missed it.
