Reading Updates

I marathoned The Immortalists this week, and I have to say it’s a fantastic book. I’ve written my review and I will be scheduling it for some point in the future but I haven’t decided when since the book comes out in January!

I am over halfway through The Gravity of Us by Brittainy C. Cherry as well. That’s become a quick read so I am hoping I can get that finished today.

What Else Have I Been Up To

giphy20

I finished Peaky Blinders and–oh my god that Season 3 ending! I am itching for Season 4’s release date because it really left me hanging!

I also wrote my final Orphan Black review! The series finale “To Write the Wrongs of Many” was a high note for the series. You can take a look at it on Tell-Tale TV here. This is actually the first week since the show ended, and I am really missing it. I also put in for the fall shows that I want to review so I will let you know my review schedule once I know it.

Now I am trying to go for a bit of fluff, so I put on The Great British Baking Show. I am not normally one for reality TV, but this one is just magic! So much amazing talent! Now I just want to bake all the things, all the time!

Around the Blogosphere

Holly @ Nut Free Nerd wrote a great post about how there’s more to Jane Austen than romance!

Naty @ Naty’s Bookshelf posted this great .discussion entitled Why I Read Classics + Why You Don’t Need To. I love this post, but I especially love the point at the end where it says that people should only read classics that they are genuinely interested in.

Analee @ Book Snacks wrote about eight of her odd blogging habits! I’ve done quite a few of these myself. Never really thought they were odd, but if they are, at least Annalee and I are in an odd duck book blogging club.

Kelly @ Kelly’s Ramblings discusses reading author acknowledgments. I personally love reading the acknowledgments page, especially after a really moving read that I am probably going to give five stars, because “oh my god this is the best book ever!”

That’s it for this week’s edition of The Sunday Post! What have you been up to this week? Let me know in the comments below!

    1. It’s horrible when you find a new obsession with a TV Show and it sucks up all your free time. I remember binging I think Season 1 of New Doctor Who and not sleeping at all that night. Then I felt really bad afterwards because I felt like I accomplished nothing even though I really enjoyed the series. #fangirlproblems

    1. Gilmore Girls is the show that just grabs you with dialogue and doesn’t let you go! I love that about the show and I have been kind of hoping for another one ever since. I haven’t quite something that exists on the same level for me!

And you should definitely be curious about The Immortalists, I was going to schedule my review October or November so it was closer to the release date but I may need to move it up now. 🙂

  1. You have me curious about The Immortalists and the British Bake Show, like you I am not a fan of reality tv, so you have me wanting to see it. Orphan Black will be a big void in the tv lineup to fill 😦

    1. The Immortalists is a great read and I’ve read other opinions where someone didn’t like one part or another, but I really think it’s just a truly great story and it has fantastic writing.

The Great British Baking Show is amazing! It’s all hobby bakers who don’t win any money. They just love baking and they challenge themselves each week.

And yes, Orphan Black is going to be a huge void. So many of my favorite shows ended this year or are ending this year. I hope they fill their slots with more great stories. I will be sad if they don’t.

  2. The Immortalist sounds soooo good. 😮 I’ll be keeping my eyes extra open for that one. I’ve also been meaning to start Peaky Blinders for a while now. The show looked so good when I saw a glimpse of it at some point. 😮 I think it’s cause Tom Hardy was in it somewhere. That must be why I instantly wanted to try it out. Have you ever watched Taboo with Tom Hardy as a lead character? One of the best TV shows out there. Love that guy. Dude can act.
