WWW Wednesdays 7-19-2017

WWW Wednesdays is a weekly meme that was previously hosted by Should Be Reading and is now hosted by Taking on a World of Words.

To play along you just had to answer the following three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

So, let’s get started!

Recently Finished

I finished a novel and a novella this past week. I finished Most Wanted by Lisa Scottoline this Sunday and I am attending book club on Thursday for it.  My full review of the book will be coming later this week.

There’s another book club, a good drive from me that’s reading Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire. This was a fun quick read, that I can’t wait to share with you guys. My review of this book will also be coming later this week.

Currently Reading

This week has consisted of mostly 20 minute drives so I haven’t made much progress on my audiobook The Hypnotist’s Love Story by Liane Moriarty. I am still enjoying it, so although my progress is slow, I am sticking with it.

On my e-reader, I have We Could Be Beautiful by Swan Huntley. Not quite sure what to make of it so far because I am only a quarter of the way through it. Not sure I like the main character, but I don’t need to like the main character in order to enjoy the book.

My Next Read

I can’t tell where my mood is going to take me. I am not really in the mood for a mystery, but I do want a good story. So I am thinking of one of the following books.

The first is The After Party by Anton DiScalafani. This book has been on my shelf for over a year and I just think it may be time for a literary visit to the 1950s.

Next is Girl at War by Sara Novic, this book is set during the civil war in Yugoslavia, and follows the same woman when she returns to Croatia ten years later.

I also still have some interest in reading Rabbit Cake by Annie Hartnett, so there is every possibility that I will pick that up.

So that wraps up my WWW Wednesday for this week! What are you guys currently reading? Have you read any of the book on my list?

  1. I read Liane Moriarty’s book and will definitely read more by this author. I highly enjoyed her writing style, even though now, after a few weeks since I finished The Hypnotists’s, it feels like it was a little too sweetly fluid, if I may put it this way. But I really enjoyed the book when I read it 🙂

    1. It does feel that way a little bit, but I am still kinda of enjoying it. I am halfway through it now and I hope that maybe I can finish it next week. I used to blow through audiobooks. I don’t know why this one is taking me so long to finish.

  2. Hallo, Hallo Lauren –

I’ve been wanting to start reading Scottoline’s novels myself – I have a short list of the ones I want to read, as I think their threaded together into a series? Unsure but I believe that’s the case? Did you start with one of her stand-alones or with the series (or series)? I was wondering where a good ‘starting point’ might be? Hmm. I need to see if you posted your review! lol

PS: I need to resume my #WWWeds; been half an age!
