Book Style // Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris

I recently read Behind Closed Doors by B.A.. Paris. It’s a great read and a good thriller with a very fulfilling ending, and with the movie rights already sold, it seems like it’s a good time to imagine what the character of Grace might be wearing.

This is an outfit styled for grace in the dinner party scene in the first chapter.

Grace and Jack’s life is all about a believable artifice so I wanted to make her dinner party outfit look really ritzy.

To start, I needed a killer dress and since red is such an important color in the book, I thought the form-fitting silhouette of this T by Alexander Wang Women’s Crepe V Neck Maxi Dress was the perfect fit. Then, I picked a pair of killer Gucci Patent Leather Ankle Strap Pumps to compliment it.

I feel like to complete the lap of luxury lifestyle that the Angels lead there would be a lot of glitzy jewelry. Obviously Grace would have a killer engagement ring to show Jack’s colleagues. Tiffany & Co. 1.71 Carat F If Diamond Platinum Engagement Ring would be perfect.

The rest of Grace’s jewelry would be paired with Lord & Taylor Diamond and 14K Stud Earrings. Around Grace’s neck would be the Roberto Coin Diamond and 18K Slanted Heart Pendant Necklace and her wrist would be a Blue Nile Diamond Tennis Bracelet.

Grace would also need to be perfectly made up for her dinner parties. Her beauty routine would involve Mac Fashion Pack Eye Shadow X 9 Palette in She’s a Model with Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Damsel.

On her cheeks she would use NARS Blush Duo in Hot Sand and Orgasm. Her lips would have a pop of color to match her dress with NARS Audacious Lipstick in Geraldine.

As a final touch, her nails would be painted with Essie Nail Polish in Ole Caliente.

And with this look Grace would be ready for a dinner party with Jack’s colleagues. They’d eat great food and everyone would awww over how she does it, but is there something more sinister going on?

Read Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris to find out.

The Book that Inspired the Look

Everyone knows a couple like Jack and Grace. He has looks and wealth, she has charm and elegance. You might not want to like them, but you do.

You’d like to get to know Grace better. But it’s difficult, because you realise Jack and Grace are never apart.

Some might call this true love. Others might ask why Grace never answers the phone. Or how she can never meet for coffee, even though she doesn’t work. How she can cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim. And why there are bars on one of the bedroom windows.

From author B. A. Paris comes a thriller and international phenomenon Behind Closed Doors.

Behind Closed Doors gives us a glimpse into the realities of a “perfect marriage,” with addictive and heart pounding moments guaranteed to have you looking at your friends and neighbours differently.” —Margaret Madden, Bleach House Library

  2. I love the eye shadow pallet… I had a red lace dress that was very tight, and I LOVED IT! This picture somewhat reminded me of it, but this sounds like the perfect outfit for a fancy dinner 🙂
