The Liebster Award #2

liebster-blog-award

The Rules:

  2. Acknowledge the blogger who nominated you.
  3. Answer the questions assigned to you.
  4. Nominate 11 deserving bloggers for the award.
  5. Ask 11 questions to your nominees.

Here we go!

My Questions

1. What book genre haven’t you tried yet?

There are probably some micro or sub-genres that I haven’t tried yet, but I feel like I’ve read all the major genres at least once in my lifetime (sci-fi, fantasy, historical fiction, contemporary fiction etc).

What I haven’t read in a long time that I think would be fun is an epistolary novel where the novel is actually written in letters.

9c92dfa4f87cea4804559e44b45955d52. What  is your favorite picture , emoji, meme, or gif?

Another hard one, but I would have to say the  chipmunk emoji is my favorite at the moment because my dog has been chasing these things all over the yard.

No she doesn’t harm the little woodland creatures, she just likes to push around the dirt and bark at the ground thinking that they’ll come out and play.

3IMG_5332. Are you a cat or dog person?

Can I be both? As a kid I had two cats, both of which have passed on after having really long lives. Now I have a dog named Sissy who is a pug/dachshund mix who I wouldn’t trade for anything.

What she lacks in chipmunk hunting skills she makes up for in kisses and cuddles. Plus, she looks way too much like the dog on the cover of Steven Rowley’s book Lily and the Octopus.

I joke all the time that I will grow up to be a crazy animal lady living alone on a ranch.

4. Which  “based on a novel “movie best represents the book?

I think I’ve said in a few other tags that I can’t think of anything that perfectly matches, but I think that If I Stay perfectly represents the book. Yes, there are changes from the book but the movie as much an emotional rollercoaster as Gayle Forman’s book.

5. How do you set your environment to read? (music, tea, coffee, candles…)

Generally its time for bed, so I am under the cover, I have a glass of water (maybe), my dog at my feet and perhaps a score of some kind.

I am addicted to the Harry Potter scores and anything by Alexandre Desplat. The lack of lyrics makes it easier to concentrate but there’s still something in the background.

6. Would you be a villain or “save the day” character?

I get the feeling I would be a villain hands down. I once wrote an op-ed for the Hartford Courant about how Bellatrix Lestrange taught me not to care about what other people thought.

7. Have you ever taken too long to read an ARC? Which one?

I wouldn’t say it’s been too long since I only started receiving ARCs fairly recently.

8. What is your best time to read?

I read the best either early in the morning or late at night.

9. Are you a paperback or ebook reader?

Paperback usually, but I do get hardcover new releases and e-ARCs. I find paperbacks easier to travel with.

image_medium210. Do you have a secret talent or hobby nobody knows about? Which one?

Well I knit. It’s not really a secret, but do my followers know that? I am not sure. I’ve been knitting for years now.

11. Which book or book series became an obsession?

I think Ola would say that my reading obsession is City of Thieves because until recently I have been mentioning it in just about every single tag!

I think she’s right so I am going to go with that, but it is also a symptom of one of my favorite genres: World War II historical fiction.

    1. Yea. The movie was really moving, maybe even more so, but I absolutely LOVE that they kept the spirit of the book. If they hadn’t they would have had a lot to answer for, because really, how to you mess up and doctor a plot that takes place in just about one location?
