Waiting on WednesdayWaiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

25546710This week I am waiting on The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett by Chelsea Sedoti

Release Date: January 31x, 2017

Hawthorn wasn’t trying to insert herself into a missing person’s investigation. Or maybe she was. But that’s only because Lizzie Lovett’s disappearance is the one fascinating mystery their sleepy town has ever had. Bad things don’t happen to popular girls like Lizzie Lovett, and Hawthorn is convinced she’ll turn up at any moment—which means the time for speculation is now.

So Hawthorn comes up with her own theory for Lizzie’s disappearance. A theory way too absurd to take seriously…at first. The more Hawthorn talks, the more she believes. And what better way to collect evidence than to immerse herself in Lizzie’s life? Like getting a job at the diner where Lizzie worked and hanging out with Lizzie’s boyfriend. After all, it’s not as if he killed her—or did he?

Told with a unique voice that is both hilarious and heart-wrenching, Hawthorn’s quest for proof may uncover the greatest truth is within herself.

The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett by Chelsea Sedoti intrigued me immediately. I love a good mystery and this one sounds a lot like With Malice mixed with Pretty Little Liars and a touch of Code Name Verity.

I can’t wait for this release. It sounds like the perfect psychological thriller, the perfect read for after the holiday season is over. I mean it’s creepy but after listening to two months of Christmas music, I don’t mind reading about other people’s crazy.

What is your most anticipated book?

  1. Oh my gosh, I’ve read this already thanks to NetGalley and I can tell you it will be worth the wait! I mean, it’s not the greatest book ever, but it’s a really good read and I didn’t expect to love it so much 🙂
