March Wrap Up and April TBR Pile

They say March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. While we saw some snow here but overall had really nice temperatures. However, I did accidently, on purpose buy a lot of new books this month. Here are some of my recent acquisitions:

Acquired Books April 2016

Cinder by Marissa Meyer
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot
H is for Hawk by Heather MacDonald
The Bronte Cabinet: Three Lives in Nine Objects by Deborah Lutz
With Malice by Eileen Cook
Euphoria by Lily King

In case you missed it. Here are the posts from the previous month. The books range from dystopian to mystery and literary fiction. There’s even a book of essays about books:

Better Bound: Room by Emma Donoghue (Book + Movie Review)
Backlist Book Review: Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood
Backlist Book Review: Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Backlist Book Review: Under the Wide and Starry Sky by Nancy Horan

For the last couple of months, I have been writing for a television blog called Tell-Tale TV. I have been covering Pretty Little Liars, Blindspot, and Grey’s Anatomy. You can see all of my reviews by viewing my author profile, but here are my Tell-Tale TV reviews and features published in March:

Now, onto my April TBR pile. I am going for a mix of genres this month after a few really heavy books this past month.

April TBR List

1. Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews

I kept hearing about this book and I really wanted to give it a read. This is at the top of my pile.

2. Some Girl(s) by Neil LaBute

This is a play about a guy who is about to married, but before he ties the knot he takes a trip around the world to see a few of his exes. Sounds like an interesting, lighthearted read.

3. An Arsonist’s Guide to Writer’s Homes in New England by Brock Clarke

This sounds like a fun read and I could use a bit more of a lighthearted story. This is a book I know very little about, but I like the premise.

4. H is for Hawk by Helen MacDonald

This is the book club selection for my local indie bookshop. I am very excited for it. I’ve heard good things about it.

5. With Malice by Eileen Cook

I have an e-ARC of this that I am looking forward to reading. The plot sounds a bit like the Amanda Knox case mixed with Revenge. It instantly caught my attention.

6. Love Me by Garrison Keillor

This is a book I got when a local used bookstore closed. It sounds like an interesting story about writers so I am going to give it a read.

  1. Ahh cinder! One of my favorite books ever! Are you gonna read scarlet soon? I know it’s not listed, but I would definitely recommend it! 😀
